FRCR Exam:
The FRCR exam is the postgraduate qualification for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists, a professional body in the United Kingdom. It assesses a candidate’s knowledge and clinical competence in radiology and has three parts: First FRCR (part 1), Final FRCR Part A (2A), and Final FRCR Part B (2B). Passing all three parts is required to be a consultant radiologist in the UK and is a recognized route for international radiologists seeking to work in the NHS

FRCR Part 1
Focuses on anatomy and physics. Candidates take both exams together. Tests foundation knowledge in anatomy, physics, and basic clinical radiology.
FRCR Part 2A
Assesses clinical radiology knowledge. Consists of a written exam. Covers topics relevant to clinical practice
FRCR Part 2B
A practical exam evaluating reporting skills. Candidates interpret radiological images and provide accurate reports. Includes both orals and rapid reporting sessions.

Eligibility and Registration:
Candidates must pass the Part 1 before attempting subsequent parts. Fellowship is awarded by examination, and successful candidates can use the letters FRCR after their name. International students also pursue the exams, valuing it as a professional distinction.
Specialty-Specific Examinations:
The exam includes specialty-specific assessments in two key parts: Final FRCR Part 2A (Theory) and Final FRCR Part 2B (Clinical). Part 2A uses two single best answer (SBA) papers covering topics like cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, breast, pediatric, and neuro-radiology. Part 2B tests practical skills through a rapid reporting session (radiographs), a long-cases reporting. session (multiple imaging modalities), and a viva voce exam
