Occupational English Test

Overview

The OET is an internationally recognized English language proficiency test specifically designed for healthcare professionals. It assesses the English skills of healthcare workers who seek to register and practice in an English-speaking environment. The test focuses on communication skills relevant to healthcare contexts.

It assesses the language and communication skills needed for a professional healthcare setting, using real-world scenarios relevant to your specific profession.

Purpose:

To assess the English language proficiency of overseas-trained healthcare professionals for work or study in English-speaking countries (e.g., UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland).

Require Scores:

Most regulatory bodies require candidates to achieve a minimum of a Grade B (a score of 350-440) in all four sub-tests. Always verify the specific requirements with the council or board you are applying to, as they set the passing grades.

Statement of Results (SOR):

This digital document serves as your official proof of achievement and can be downloaded from your secure online MyOET account. It is recognized by healthcare boards, employers, and immigration offices.
